Michael Durham of Beaver, who is the Executive
Director of the Welfare Office in Rochester, made an interesting
discovery some time ago as they were moving from their location
on Jefferson St. to their new offices on Virginia Ave. He found
a large planning book for Beaver County, dated 1943. It was created
by Michael Baker Jr. Consulting Engineers and Planners of Rochester,
Pa., former tenants of those offices. The book contained many
potential and possible projects for the County, of which the bridge
shown above was one of the most interesting, even though it never
materialized.
